General lee 979
Fair enough but it's a good hen and at the minute they're thin on the ground for me if I could get a clutch of eggs from her I'd be happy
dusk til dawn 169
maybe take away the eggs as she lays, then either incubater or broody. has she got access to shell grit she could be lacking in something ie calcium.
General lee 979
Yeh she could be I will try some shell getting the eggs as she lays them is difficult I'm not with them all the time
Chicken_man 1,651
I had an egg eater once, so i filled eggs with mustard using a piping bag for a day or 2, and that did the trick + i made sure there was shell available all times for calcium

Ukroosterman 548
Ok there a few options you could try here all very affective and work well.... The easy would be to turn her loose for a week... As stated bye D.T.D she could be missing somethink from her diet... And will get the source running loose.... Or she could be self made egg eater simple put she as craked one bye mistake and now like the tast.... If so you can either build your self a rolling tray in the bottom of the coop so the eat rolls out as she lays it....... Or take a pair of sisors and trim back the top of her beak to the wick.... Just so can see a slight bit of blood make sure the top beak is cut straite across the top so there no point...... This makes it sore when they peck the egg and with give up after a few try's........ off the tether 277
General, anything a animal dose out of nature is telling you something, you will get one hundred different answers on here, and still have the same problem, but let me tell you what I would do and its simple common sense, let her out, and I bet she stops it, she is lacking something and there is nobody on here knows what only her, so my friend try it and if I am wrong please be free to tell me so, good luck hope she lays her arse of for you, O,T,T
welshgamecock 6
The best method that I have tried was from India they would put eggs that failed to hatch in the nest box of an egg eater yes they will try but once they have tasted a ransid egg they will never forget trust me it works
