Why Should How He Looks Make A Difference? Rehomed 4 Times

Recommended Posts

Sounds typical of the throwaway mentality that many seem to have regards dogs. Dicks.

The rescue have to take some of the blame though. How hard can it be to ensure a dog gets rehomed to someone trustworthy.

The wife and I do home checks and fostering for a rehoming group. We regularly go to houses that look like land-fill sites . We tend to take the view that if you can't look after your own home............

A few times, we've been to check them to place a dog deemed 'not suitable for small children or cats' and when you get there, they've got both!

I visited an old lady who wanted a pup in a 2nd-floor flat -'It can do it's toilet on newspaper, so I haven't got to take it out'

Loads of people get in touch complaining that the 12 week-old pup 'won't stop pi55ing in the house', the list goes, sadly, on and on...........

The fault, I think , lies with a small number of people who fail to grasp exactly what kind of undertaking being a dog owner really is, or the true commitment involved. The home checks we do are as in-depth as possible, but how you either deter such people from owning dogs, or educating them appropriately - I wish I knew, mate !

One thing I do know is that we've never been so busy, as there's no sign of it slowing down !

(Added as an afterthought - at least it's at Dog's Trust ,so it won't be put down. Th epoor sod could have ended up in the clutches of ArsePCA ! )

Culled for that!!! THL at its finest you can tell the vain lads on here who spend too much time in front of the mirror yes I agree the dogs not for the type of person who needs a dog to get comments

If the breeder had done the right thing at birth, it would never have come about. How many of us would have allowed a working breed pup to live with such an obvious birth defect..

Totally agree.....if a dogs not going to be worked its going to sit around and be " looked at ".......who wants to sit looking at an ugly f****r like that im not surprised its been passed around......its not like theres a shortage of dogs.....it should of been culled simple.

must be me but i like the look of the mutt! shame hes had 4 homes as that cant be good for a mal! must have had some affect on the temp and at 5 months I dont think I would risk it with a 5 yr old in the house! I have a 7 stone 2 yr old am bull that she pulls around like a teddybear but shes been here since 6 weeks old and a 5 mnth collie x that doubles up as a dolly but also been here from 8 weeks. shame for the mutt and hope he finds a good home!

Probably ain't the reason it's been rehomed they are probably using it to tug on heart strings and get it a home quicker, wouldn't bother me in the slightest it's only a line down its nose not 2 noses, if it was a pet it wouldn't bother me or if it was working as long as it done what I wanted then I couldn't care.

Dewi and gnasher youse must get tired lads, having to walk doon the street way a tennis racket wacking the burds back everyday way your mind blowing handsomeness.

Fair enough you would,I wouldn't,good job we're not all the same.My dogs are far from pretty same as me..But neither are they deformed.Would you breed off that dog if it was yours? I wouldn't keep a dog that i wouldn't breed from.fao Grant C

Every dog has a line down its nose, that dog has a deep line down its nose that's as far as it gos or am I missing the point? To me that about sums it up it doesnt go any further than that it doesnt look deformed to me its got everything it should have except a split nose not even 2 noses like the headline on the various pages its on just a split nose. I don't plan to breed from every dog I own either.

To answer your question I wouldn't have a dog I couldn't work so the breed that is isn't any good to me, but if it was a lurcher/terrier/spaniel/lab I had and it was a good dog then why not? Because it has a line down its nose? I couldn't give a shit mate if its healthy and it works then why not. Same old shite mate don't breed off an overshot terrier bla bla why not? I've got dogs that are kind to the eye, wouldn't matter if they weren't though.

it wouldn't bother me, as as long as t did its job in the field, but some people look at dogs like humans, so want a perfect animal similar to human in temp but looks like a dog looks .?? its a sad world we live in when dog rehomed because what it looks like, not what its like as dog that could do a job if need be.

Good point. Unfortunately, everything is about physical appearance these days: even artificial bollocks for dogs that have been castrated. And I know it's a bit of a leap, but look how many girls, and I mean girls as opposed to mature women, have plastic surgery, breast enhancement in their search for perfection. Who cares what lies in the mind, so long as the outer surface is perfect :censored:

Culled for that!!! THL at its finest  you can tell the vain lads on here who spend too much time in front of the mirror  yes I agree the dogs not for the type of person who needs a dog to get comments on how ard they look, people will mock and comment on it and if your shallow and insecure then it ain't for you but to cull??? You should only cull if the defect affects the dog being a dog, this is pure cosmetic. My mates got a collie cross, jet black, it has one brown eye and one blue, looks as weird as f**k but looks don't catch fuckall. You vain boys would have it PTS I suppose....... Imagine if we found out that dog took by the Taliban had the same nose, would you be saying, best thing for it, should have been killed at birth
