Works well but you certainly know it's on the end of the barrel when you've been across a few fields. Just got to figure out how to clean it now as I'm not too sure the last owner was that fastidious with their maintenance. Quote Link to post

andyf 144 Posted February 8, 2014 Report Share Posted February 8, 2014 Got a Wildcat on my .270, and believe me that's a thumper noise wise, the wildcat tames it right down, so its very good. Strip-able as well, you'd be surprised the gunk that collects inside, just a tad heavy though (I cured that by buying another rifle and not having a mod on that one, he he). I've got a Hardy from Riflecraft on my 22.250 that's also very good, but light as a feather, not strip-able though so remains to be seen how it will last? AF Quote Link to post

Alsone 789 Posted February 9, 2014 Report Share Posted February 9, 2014 (edited) If anyone's feeling rich, and assuming importation is legal on moderators (I don't know if it is or if not, if it's possible to get a licence or a dealer to do it), these guys claim a 38db reduction (165db > 127db) on their .223 moderator: http://www.dakotasilencer.com/the-varminter-silencer-2-0-mack-brothers/ Most UK moderators claim a 25db reduction. Considering every 1db = 10x reduction, that's a big difference. 127db is still far from silent but a huge reduction from 165db. I'm guessing the price is in part down to titanium.
