Bsa Ultra Review

Recommended Posts

Brilliant little rifles. I own one myself and am just getting the Ultra Se too. I have a friend who shoots a Rapid 7 and friends with other well established pcps and the Ultra Se matches them all shot for shot for accuracy. Even the now legendary HW100 cannot out shoot the Ultra Se for accuracy as I have seen with my own eyes. One of my friends has just sold his Rapid 7 to buy a Ultra Se after testing one. His exact words were "amazing". With 40 - 45 shots in .177 and 50 - 55 in .22 that's enough for a check zero, plink and some hunting before a re pump is needed. Pellet wise Air Arms seem very good in them. Have a look on You Tube Chris as there are many videos starting to appear now showing the Ultra Se being shot by their owners and what they are capable of doing. I wont name a site to look on but if you go onto Google and type in BSA Ultra Se review I'm sure a good You Tube location will appear :-)

not as good as the rapid like its all in the engineering and the theoben and hw piss all over it but acuracy wise guns are as accurate as the shooter and pellet match mate

You don't know what your talking about

from what I can gather on here- bsa springers are shit (although I had 3 supersports and 2 lightnings and they were all 'ok'. not as good as my hw springer.

and bsa pcp's seem to be bang on. I have only ever fired 2 ultras , but they were both bang on, as was a mates scorpion I fired.

as for the rapid I have only shot one and again, that was sweet!

fired a few hw100's and they are just the daddy, hence why I bought one/. the AA s410 was nice but the hw100 smashes it in every category#!

this is of course just my opinion, and I would say the weihrauch rifels are the best all rounders. imo

-------

I wouldn't mind having an ultra for a few months to properly put it through its pacesw myself as they are highly rated on here,

there alot better engineered guns by far mate ive had both and would take the rapid over the ultra every time and the ultra was tench regged just because you have one doesnt mke it the best rifle pal and the gun i as accurate as the shooter at airgun ranges if anything the lother and anny barrels are better than the bsa aswell

That's strange you saying that about BSA barrels Andy97. It contridicts everything I've ever read in this forum from past threads and on the internet as a whole. Im really not sure where and on what grounds you have made that statement but it kind of makes me feel your making it up and as you have in many of your recent posts are playing the Devils Advocate. You can read about lads with rapids changing their barrels for BSA barrels as the way they are made makes them very accurate. I agree about the rapid being a top pcp I've shot my mates old one many many times over the years. They have long stood the test of time but given what the Ultra was designed for, being small and light, good for small spaces and accurate they are every bit as useful as a rapid. Yes not with the same shot count or reputation as a rapid and maybe with a MMC cocking system that many don't like. There are also many that do though due to its very good safety features, but still it's a good rifle and does what it was designed for so actually engineered perfect for the task its was designed for. If talking about the SE version then I'd say it's BSAs new best rifle to date and will soon have a following to justify my statement. As good as their R10s at a cheaper price and every bit as good as a rapid less shot count. Why would my friend sell his rapid to buy a SE after trying one if they were not something special? He didn't sell because the SE was better than his Rapid. He sold because the SE felt better to him and he surprised himself by shooting better with it than he ever did with the heavier Rapid in the past. I would be also interested in why you would take the rapid over a tench regulated Ultra all the time? I can't believe you only plink and so need as many shots as you can and I also can't believe you shoot so many vermin each time you need more than 80 to 90 shots, and if the rifle is as accurate as it's shooter like you said what's your reasons? Let's have a calm friendly debate with others adding to it too.
