Bill Roache Not Guilty

Recommended Posts

Bill Roache has been found not guilty of all charges against him. What with him and Michael le Vell from Corrie, that's 2 accused and 2 found not guilty.

I dread to imagine what he must have been through these last months with that hanging over his head and that of his family.

I hope the full force of the law is turned onto the accusers who jumped on the bandwagon and who were willing to possibly destroy a man's life in the hope of getting a few quid. It's nothing short of character assassination.

Well said mate, the person accusing should be held up to exactly the same rigours as the accused IMHO

The woman making the accusations in the Roach case lost any credibility when she blurted out in court '' it was ken Barlow that done it... him there ''   Apart from anything else any evidence from

We are all human beings, women like to get amongst it as much as men.........no shame in it. Maybe it has something to do with this unspoken pressure that we don't expect women to be like that.......

The CPS are pretty much the same as the old bill I would imagine, if there is the smallest chance of sticking someone away they will crack on no matter how trumped the charge or silly the offence.

In this case I guess it was more about him being a high profile person and them being seen to bring someone like that to account.

Eccles is his wee dog paulus

All these new abuse cases to stars all stemming from saville. All the hype about that is making people accusing innocents think they will get there 5mins of fame and money for selling stories etc. Sick. And I bet there will be many more cases against innocent men.

I think you will find the CPS won't bother with more than you think, especially rape case's, my niece was raped 2 years ago by her mates husband, the cps didn't want to know, the police told her it wasn't uncommon, those cases are so hard to prove, they often won't bother unless the evidence is really good.

I was talking about these type of cases with my wife the other night after that girl chucked herself off the car park.

Rape and sexual assault is IMHO almost unique in that its almost exclusively a woman accusing a man.

As we know there are some real nut jobs out there (men and women) that can accuse a perfectly innocent man of a crime like this and basically that's his life ruined.

Yes we need to treat potential victims sensatively but the scrutiny we put them under must be every bit as harsh as the accused and they must be under no illusion that the consequences of a false accusation will be every bit as harsh as anyone convicted of rape or sexual assault.
