baw 4,360
What did you think of the new series? It was worth watching, the lads are a good laugh but, did you not feel it felt staged more than usual? I've thought Hammond has been wooden for a while, but that first episode was a bit far fetched. I know they were making a joke of how easy the Sri rolled but they were trying to make it too real for me. Still worth a watch but it was better when it was natural, now they need to have a funny event happen every time and its spoiling it IMO.
STRANGER 948
Only caught the last bit thought the police chase thing was shite, was like watching a bad pantomime, totally staged and un interesting. Hopefully goes back to the way it was.

When they showed a clip at the beginning, showing wee bits of what's to come in the series, it didn't look that great to be honest. Best sticking to specials like the Vietnam one etc.
nothernlite 18,089
Decent enough show but wish they would lose the public school boy tory b-----ds that present it
baw 4,360
Decent enough show but wish they would lose the public school boy tory b-----ds that present it Fair point, I think they are the attraction though mate. Clarkson is quality, he just doesn't give a f**k. Can you mind one of the anti groups were asking for donations and giving free postage for them. Clarkson in the sun put up their address and said he was sending a concrete slab
Accip74 7,112
Been total shite for a while..........can Hammond get any more irritating?...............I suppose all the staged shite is a producer/ratings thing..........like the Americans have to stage absolutely everything......

Malt 379
Wasn't the best episode to start IMO. I don't mind the daft staged stuff when there's some proper car features in there mixing it up but it went a bit far on Sunday. They've got the Mclaren P1 on next week though, looking forward to that..

The star in a reasonably priced car, who was he? I was away at the weekend so I'd sky plused it, watched it last night. Found myself fast forwarding him to see his lap, something I never do. Lab 10,979
Some funny bits as usual but got to agree the staging stuff is getting to much. If they want to go down the half slapstick comedy route then go for it, there actually good at it. But trying to pretend sometimes comes across as a bit cringeworthy. baw 4,360
Hammonds the worst, he just can't pull it off. The supermarket rally was a load of shit. Least with clarkson you know he's just having a good time. I've never seen their stage show, it was on in Glasgow the other week, I wonder if that's rubbing off onto the show
Lab 10,979
The whole wrapping the car thing was funny. Taken to far with the "lost the keys gag". Would have been funny enough to just let then get on with it. Then the bit where they couldn't catch Clarkson and blew him up with the dynamite....ffs him driving about pretending he never knew where they were. Just get the supercars on the track a get them tested and get the challenges on the go. Although even most if them are set up i think.
