When Does Ferreting Season End?

Been ferreting today and had 6 large rabbits but also 2 tiny rabbits were bolted into the dogs mouth! Just wondered when is the average time the season stops?

March-April ish for me, depends on numbers mate, I've hardly been out at all this season coz most of my grounds underwater! Had a few good do's on the ducks tho swings and roundabouts mate

Personaly i keep ferreting until i get young then stop,which seems to get earlier by the fecking year When i first started ferreting we would say sept to end of march but those days i think are long gone.Ive had 3 months this season thats it

 

If pest control is your game and you dont mind digging there is nothing stopping you ferreting every month of the year.I find with my method the rabbits have more than enough time to replenish so my sport regards numbers etc remains consistant and i like this method.

suppose it depends on the individual people stop at different times but if yous say stop when young are coming out id have given up at xmas bolted young 2days before

thing they are breeding all year round nowadays seasons are a changing

has for hedgehogs sleeping threw winter they were out while lamping last week

Only way of knowing is getting out and ferreting and seeing when the rabbits have young. It also pays off to have permission in different environments that way you have more chance of having a longer season.

ive not seen any young yet had a couple milky does on sunday will be ferreting for next couple weeks then will stick to lamping with lurcher and rifle only just got a huge amount of permission after 8mnths of trying so no way am i stopping now!
