no offence pal but why breed off a bitch with bad feet? by sounds of it she is your average bitch, no better no worse than a lot.. so why not try and source a pup out of a bitch than can do same, but

Whilst I agree with what hot meat said,,, he's right of course,,,,I'm not so sure that bitch had particularly bad feet,,, she has had some toes removed,,, but I think the reasons why this happened is

Rew what about snoopdogs dog razor,,,,for that coursing side?

i woudn't advise biking your dog before running it or after

why not ?

I always give good rub down after hard night, regards the bike work I only do bit august 4mile 2-3 times a week, then sep just lamp the dog fit. I did do a bit of bike work with my pup after his shoulder injury, and it helped I think, he seems ok now .

I would not bike mine before or after lamping..

Have biked before lamping to take the edge of a hyper and over keen dog.

I would want my dog to save all its energy for the quarry..

If you aint driving and its that or nothing, I imagine i would have to do this or beg lifts..

I would feel bad if I had ran my dog hard or it had a few grewlers. Then it had to trott 5/6 miles..

Each to there own.. Just glad I have a van :laugh:

Don(Fuji's dog) or Bryn (Ray Birds Dog) for a good all rounder rabbitting type.

Buster (triggers Dog) for something hardy and strong but bigger.

Buddy the coursing dog.. For obvious reasons.

Or Old Snipe ( Jims dog ) if he still has one in him for a good Lurcher to Lurcher Mix.

imo the dog would be biked or any other type of fitness training leading up to the day/days he was being worked imo it is stupid to take anything out of the dog before running him and then expect him to run at his best and then another 5 miles after a hard day/nights graft would you do this with a greyhound then put it in the marathon race or a sprint for that matter any sport really this is a wind up :hmm:

I was for ever on at rew for not running this bitch in the summer,,, wich of course fell on deff ears,,,he was living for a time with that idiot world hunters,, down sarf,,,,and of course the inevitable happened,,, hard ground and a dog that's dam near a grew don't mix...... So come September she was lame ......

Big lesson there learnt by a young lad,,,, now my opinion of this bitch is she's a good one,,, I'm not saying she's a world beater,,, but she's a dog I would have a pup of,, bred with the right dog,,,, all those mentioned by vin,,,would make a handy cross in my opinion,,,,

Of course he could save himself a hole load of grief ,,, by buying in a pup,,,lol

Good post Tomo.

Personally, I always try to advise folk to buy in, pups are a fecking nightmare and we all know there are far too many being bred..! Time spent sourcing the right pup can be just as rewarding as creating one, with a lot of the pressure off.

That said, where would we be if no one bred out of good dogs, dogs worthy of forwarding their blood.

Rew, take time to work out if a litter out of your bitch is what you really want and take time to select the right dog for her, dependent on what you want your 'new' dog to do. There are plenty of good dogs out there to use. It's your call..! ;)

i must be the odd one out as i like to know what's in my dogs and more to the point see them work year in year out. only then will i choose to breed and have a true understanding of what i am trying to achieve with the mating, buying in a dog has far to many variables for me,

In an ideal world maybe... But he hasn't got a Stud dog for his bitch and he's wanting a pup out of his bitch.. So he,s asking the experts on here.

Its could be for his own personal sentimental reasons that he wants a pup from his own dog. . . But like many lads out there, they don't know of a good Stud dog that has whatever qualities and breeding he might require for his own personal choice.

I took Tomo's advice myself, when considering breeding from my own rabbiting dog he said to me at the time " Fek that mate, there's too many shit dogs out there,Don't be breeding anymore ! ". So I bought a pup.. lol.

Although Im sure I could have had a decent pup from my old bitch,Im really glad i didn't bother now.. . The biggest problem would have been..what the Fek to do with the rest of the litter . . I wouldn't give a Ferret to 95 % of the people out there these days..in fact make that 99%.. I would be a bag of nerves worrying about who/what/where/how/ etc etc they type of nutter was coming to claim a Puppy.

I always wondered what happened to "Sir Storm ":laugh:

I bred a litter 5/6 year ago.. Was fair bit of time and money if your going about it right..

Vetting the potential buyers, be prepared for time wasters, dreamers & idiotic chavs.

I would of bred again if my bitch was younge, tho

It is much easier to buy a pup in if you source the right litters

Its difficult on here, folk bum dogs up that they see pretty pictures of..

Vins totally right :victory:
