Mince 2
We got to the woods at around 3:30, there was about 11 of us dotted out in I would say 200 acres of wood. It was my first time roost shooting so as you can imagine the adrenaline was pumping. Loaded the O/U and lent against a bulky tree covering myself from the wind. There must have been a good 15 pigeons come over the top of me and i managed to pluck one out of the sky; 1 for 1 that soon changed to 2 for two as they swung back round again. Then it went silent on my side; yet popping everywhere else. Was getting on a bit, managed to have some shots at some high pigeons with not much success. Then the shot that made my day, a magpie was coming into the wood, bang missed it (I'm new to the shot gun game so i had forgot to follow the bird with the swing after my first shot) so then i took a second shot, like a tonne of bricks it fell out of the sky. The gun in front of where i was looked at me with disbelief haha shot it at 50 yards through the trees and after inspection, got him just behind the eye. Then we called it a day as it was getting a little too dark. Such a good day out, definitely doing that again! Mat 2 Quote Link to post
