deanflute 550 Posted February 1, 2014 Report Share Posted February 1, 2014 I've got a catty, milbro style with square bands, over time (6 months) the eyelets have cut through the bands, it must be separating the elastic every time it's drawn, any way of stopping it doing this in the future or would the bedt solution be flat bands over the tops of the forks? 1 Quote Link to post Share on other sites

carlstoke 34 Posted February 5, 2014 Report Share Posted February 5, 2014 attach the bands to leather loops looped through the frame, acts like gypsy tabs, bands dont come into cxontact with the frame at all, had my brass n buffallo horn like this for months no signs of wear at all. whipbed 42 Posted February 9, 2014 Report Share Posted February 9, 2014 i may have picked you up wrong when you said the eyelets are cutting through the bands because the origonal milbro,s had wooden inserts in the eyelets and i was assuming it was these that were causing the damage on stretching the bands. thats why i suggested the pin method , but if your bands are just going through metal then as bpr says any band will get damaged and the gypsy tab method may be a better option as already mentioned bycarlstoke.
