cúagusgiorraí 57
I was thinking of getting licenses for my dogs. The problem is every year they contact you to renew it. I dont really want them on my back every 12 months. Of what use are they? Over here you need to produce the license to get your dogs from the warden. I would hate to loose my dogs just because I didnt buy the license. Most people I know dont have the license. Also you need to register the breed. What if it becomes a ban breed? Let me know your opinions/thoughts!
Simoman 110
JUst shows my ignorance, I didn't realise you still needed licenses over the water.
cúagusgiorraí 57
please reply to the post from any country. Unless of course you dont need a license.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
Well, how timely's this?! I've just this minute strolled up to my mail box to find it veritably stuffed with reminders about Dog Lisences! Interestingly, these postcards were in no way addressed to me. I wonder if all my neighbours, Dog keepers or not alike, also got them? I wonder if the Postman decides who has a Dog and who to drop them on? As I've simply never had this happen before, in the year and half I've lived here, I'm mildly curious about quite a bit. Only mildly curious, 'mind. Not in the least bit bothered. Ye see; I have my small stack of Dog Lisences right here in a drawer beside me. I know exactly where they are. I know what they say. I know when I must drop by at the post office and renew them all again. Mheanwhile, I can produce them with a flourish, should I find a stranger at my gate. What is it? 12.50 Euro a year? FFS! Why trouble yeself about that? See; I shell out each year and then spend that year relaxed and stress free. Anything happens requiing me to show a lisence? Right here. Where as, in Your case? Dog gets out and gets picked up? Ye gonna be sneaking down to the post office and buying a lisence. And ye know what they'll write on the thing? The exact date and Time of Day ye bought it! You lose. As for finding yeself potentially the keeper of a future banned breed? Just excersise some common sense.
Guest MOLLY
All dogs here should have a disc or id tag with the name & address of the owner by law, but not many people do. When your dog is actually working you can be exempt. I have them on only when walking here because of the deer and hares, the dogs dont stop when chasing and end up in other gameys/farmers fields, i hope when they see the collar with the disc it may put them off shooting the dogs...any hope is better than no hope. MOLL.
bill88 6
I remember when we had them here,37.1/2p if my memory is correct lol.I remember going to buy a couple after being caught with the lurchers where i shouldn't of been,so i was expecting a knock on the door. When i asked the woman at the post office for two dog licences, she scratched her chin and said "can you come back later,i can't remember where they are" shows how many they sold. Simoman 110
I spent several years as a dog warden and let me nothing is enforced regards dogs not having an ID tag. Mine get through loads, mine are also chipped but again not many wardens acctually bother scanninng the dogs they collect...
Guest Frank
I have licences for mine, only because the dog warden in my area saw me walking them and gave me a week to get them. Its strict over here, when it comes to licencing your dogs, no mercy. Frank.
