Rabbithunter 456
try using a 20/15 spun polyester. 2.1/4" mesh (not usually available off the shelf) Im in the middle of knitting one for DEL, from this site. Quote Link to post
borderboy 80
I will also be looking for a cheap supplier of which ever twine i'm advised to use...? Quote Link to post
whitby rich 1
2 1/4 inch mesh is good for rats but no good for rabbits. i think you mean 4 1/2 inch mesh! if your passing information around like sweets, make sure its correct, Quote Link to post
borderboy 80
so what size mesh board would be using...? 2 1/4"...? thanks BorderBoy... Quote Link to post
whitby rich 1
2 1/4 inch board, will make a half mesh of 2 1/4 inch,do two rows and thats your mesh size! 4 1/2 inch. its not that important ,unless you order a lint of net from netting companies! then you wont get what you want. when measuring net ,measure the four knots pulled tight. mole catcher 1
SWEETS, I LOVE SWEETS, WHOS GOT SWEETS????? Mesh size on nets is a personal thing i feel. i have long nets with mesh sizes from 4inch full mesh to 4 1/2 inch full mesh. i also have some purse nets with a mesh size of 3inch. regardless of mesh size they all catch and hold very well Quote Link to post
whitby rich 1
now things are starting to make sense, Quote Link to post
borderboy 80
Ok then... Im thinking that a 6z nylon would be best...? is this stuff suitable.... 6z Nylon Thanks BorderBoy.... Quote Link to post
whitby rich 1
6z is ok,but very heavy in wet conditions,i would go with 4z its easier to use an less visible. but its a personel choice, you"ll catch rabbits just the same in both. Quote Link to post
andy mecca 5
6z is ok,but very heavy in wet conditions,i would go with 4z its easier to use an less visible.but its a personel choice, you"ll catch rabbits just the same in both. not visible at all during darkness 6z is fine Quote Link to post
mole catcher 1
ask if its a shiney finish twisted nylon as ive found on most z twist nylon you will have to double knot it to stop slip knots from happening. try going for a spun nylon or a spun poly, much better IMO Quote Link to post
Guest wisp
how much 6z does it take to make a 100yd net. Quote Link to post
