Ha ha you have to love google maps, here's the house we lived in

I often sit fishing on some lonely beach or cliff looking at the ocean wondering what possessed me .

The wages are low,the bills are high and the weather is shite but I wouldn't want to live anywhere else!

99% of my photos of when I was down there are of either rocks or engine houses  . The history is brilliant especially the mining history.

. Worked with ex cornish tin miners dry as fook Nothing fazes them. Two black lads started fighting. Under ground. The cornish man said he just aimed for the flash of white teeth with the shovel lol. As he was biting the finger off the other black lad. I said did he , he said did he what , bite his finger off He come back with he fooking did when i he him with the shovel lol Edited by gonetoearth

says he that plied us with CORNISH pasties and CORNISH cider at the fishing comp :D .....

The pasties were from a few miles from me in Devon, the scrumpy was from Somerset.......but...... I bloody love Cornwall... The north coast especially... We were at friends for roast in a small place called Port Wrinkle last Sunday, they live 2 doors down from the village pub and 2 minutes walk from the beach, don't get much better.....

My veiled attempt at an independence piss take has turned into a Cornish love in, I tell the kids all the time we're lucky where we live.... Not in but very close to Cornwall lol

As a true Devonian I'm all in favour of Cornish Independence. As long as they keep the londoners and grockles with them it's fine by me

A true story for you....

When I worked for MAFF we had to go and survey a farm in North Cornwall. It was common practice (and good manners) to always make contact with the farmer before you started wandering around (even though they'd agreed beforehand).

My colleague and I were sent to a farm near Launceston and we tried phoning ahead to warn them of our intentions. No answer. Not an unusual occurrence, so we headed off in the hope of finding a busy farmer working somewhere on the farm.

On arrival, we found the place deserted so hung around for a bit and then headed off down the farm lane with the intention of calling back later in the day. As we drove out, my buddy saw a tractor working in the field, so we parked up and wandered over.

The conversation went something like this:

"Morning"

"All right?"

"Yes, thanks, we were looking for Mr Giles"

"He's out"

"Yes, we called at the farm"

"It's Wednesday, see"

"Oh yes"

"Market"

"Ah, right, well thanks anyway"

Because of what we were doing, we didn't really discuss it unless it was with the farmer or a member of his family, so I ventured to ask the youngish man a stupid question:

"Are you related to Mr Giles?"

"No" .................

"He's me cousin".

Says it all really.....

I loved it personally and would have stayed but the wifey wasn't keen on moving down :cray:

We lived in a place called Bridge...probably named because it had one and not much else

Not far from You Know Who :whistling:

Cheers, D.
