Move To Eire?

Recommended Posts

When I was over in Ireland over xmas I was amazed at the amount of houses that were nearly complete, but were abandoned

Looked as though the money had simply ran out, and the builders downed tools and left.

Also large scale property developments on the outskirts of Dublin that looked abandoned.

Surely a sign of the times.

Just like Greece the EU allowed Ireland to borrow money at low rates which they did (without a thought to how it would be paid off) and now the money has run out the artificially high value of the Eur

It's true, Eire's f****d.

Ten years ago I could buy a bottle of potteen for 10 quid and after half of it I'd sleep for 2 days.

NOW, the same sized bottle (although not of the same man , he gave up making it) will cost me 12 euro and I could drink it in an afternoon.

RIP OFF IRELAND.

Is it?

As Jig said, the rest of the country won't reap or get a small share of the rewards.

it will, money follows money. it will take a bit longer to spread out, but it will spread, you can be sure of that. it's just the first step in getting people investing heavily in the country again.

it'll be years before this country will get back to even close to where we were.they have cut and hacked away at every possible opportunity.the working man will never have the opportunity to earn the good salaries they once could....the government has become sadistic in their pursuit of remodeling this island of ours,to the detriment of the population.outside the pale, the poor cousins will get the left overs.there are plans for some very big projects, like this below

i would love to move there...in theory.

However my missis worked at the hospital for years as a radiographer and a lot of the nurses there had done their training in ireland and then moved over here for work as there just wasnt the jobs over there for them. Plus the living costs etc. they didnt speak very highly of living there in general. A lot of students coming through were irish too, none of them northern, So i was told a swift 'No' when i suggested it.

I hope it picks up and goes back to how some lads on this thread have said it used to be because its a beautiful country, and i hope to live their one day. Just when its turned itself around. Hopefully wont be long before the place is united, one country and tells Europe to f**k off.
