Keepers Day (2) Or The Rat !!!!

Wed nite soft o'clock, i started to load my gear in to my truck let the terrier out while i was doing it when they started paying attention to my better half's car in particular the grill and wheel arches, my little black bitch gets more than excited by rats. Oh fook this is all i need i thought. We had the same problem few years back rat got in and chewed wire etc , my better half hates rats with a passion , so i goes and gets car keys. Greeted by whats up eh? Nothing i said, whats all the noise then? Oh, think its a mouse. Thinking it would calm the situation, did it fook , by now the terriers were attacking the tyers and trying to gain access by any means , I opened the bonnet and in jumped the bitch , me black dog now had his head trapped in between the tyer and the wing lol. My better half sayin "its a rat its a rat"!! "Go in, ill sort it" I said. Looked in every nook and cranny, could not find anything.

Then i seen it rat shite on the inner wing b*****d , I grabbed the dogs and went and got plan b. Poison... No, i know terriers and poison don't mix but can't put a fen under the bonnet of a car , so put the little plastic bag were the shite was and went to bed 4. 30 alarm Up and dressed breeks the full Monty here we go, get me Lab, as i passes the car i heard that rustling, the sort that makes the hairs stand up on the back of ye neck.... B*****d !!!

Put me lab in the truck and went and got the keys, opened the bonnet no bag of poison fook! On me hands and knees nothing. Not a sign clocks ticking RAT OR KEEPERS DAY ????

WELL i arrived at the yard spot on time every one was there ready to go quick safety talk, no ground game, leave me white pheasants alone lol... Off we went, the weather was kind to us 153 pheasants, 3 jays, a partridge, 14 down to me , the bird flew high and fast couple of pillow cases exploded but wont go into that !!! Another great day. Up in the borders. Might need a passport next year lol. Once again many thanks for the privilege LL, hope the hangovers gone !!!!

Reflects the hard work thats been put in over the years looking after the estate and the conservation of natural habitats. A great mix of old and new woodland. And moorland making for diverse drives. And giving young lads the the chance to learn the job in the correct way , Had a great day. Get some springs on that cart lol
