wirral countryman 2,110 Posted January 31, 2014 Report Share Posted January 31, 2014 Ross,you will get a bit more use from a lurcher for ferreting but if its a terrier you are wanting then you can achieve good control and obedience,marking holes,etc but buy from decent working parents,I keep plummers,russells and hybrids of the 2,I pest control 2 large estates and surrounding farms using mine and the odd lurcher or 2,they will mark up,sit and watch their own hole each allocated to them,wait in the hedge for a bolter from a hole you can't get a net on,I quite often work alone and the dogs are better than some of the lads that come out to help me,you do need an intelligent breed for this and put some time in training them for what you need,looks like you're new on here so I'll put a few old pics up for you,atb,WM 5 Quote Link to post
