Wales1234 5,521
Just out every day for a good few miles walk and good grub !! Quote Link to post
jeppi26 1,855
A good diet is the key and plenty of exercise ie trotting road walking and plenty of free roaming off the lead while on walks 1 Quote Link to post
fitchet 788
I think it depends on the type of animal you keep. I have two coursing types which get jogged beside the bike every evening and let of for a good pelt around. The other two I keep arnt really out and out runners so a few good long walks and gradual short lamping sessions blows the cobwebs away and then work work and more work. I like to keep my dogs in reasonable condition all year round anyway so its not a serious amount of work getting them conditioned. Its easy enough once you've got into a routine as soon as they hear the bosses van pull up in the evenings when I'm back from work you can hear them getting outta there beds having a good shake and waiting patiently at the kennel door to be taken out Lol. Bustamunky 7
I have 2 bitches, a bull grey and a beddy whippet. Now the bull grey has 1-2 whole rabbits a week and dry GAIN biscuits and wants more! The beddy whippet picks at a rabbit (not really keen on raw) And cheap wagg dry food as thats all she will eat, Both walked at least 2 miles a day minimal The bull grey is only just finding her feet but is still very puppy build even tho shes always running or bushing after something The beddy whip is well muscled and fast as the come at her age but out of say 3 hours walks shes only running 45 minutes of it the rest is by my side or tracking a scent, Im looking to work the beddy whippet as the bull grey is more bull than sighthound and she eats anything shes caught not much legal quarry i can use her for anyway! But still want her in good shape, CHEARS BUSTAMUNKY Edited January 29, 2014 by Bustamunky Quote Link to post
