out stalking early

well lads out early this morning for a stalk.got up at 04.30 had tea headed at 5.got there at about 6 or so.had the run of the land in my head so walk about a mile around to get againts the wind,got into place big wood on my left, nice field to my right raiseing up hill.i spotted a fallon buck 2 field over under a tree high up on the hill so stayed to the trees and in a drain all the way along to try to get into him, half way along a fox showed himself and went along the same line as i was heading, another field away a good silka stag stood out for a min or two but the fox i say put back in, i waited awhile to see would it show again but no sign.the buck on the hill moved up abit hitting for cover i set myself up for the shot as he stood looking down from the hill,he was to me 200+, i pulled the shot to the heart down he went YES i said f**k my heart was like a drum,it was a great morning it took me about a hour to get into him a it payed off i am a novice at deer as ye can tell,i also picked up a pajero for just for hunting it was great to drive up the field to pick it up.have a few photo of the land and that.sorry to have bored u,cheer sounder :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Now I know why its called the emerald isle ......very green. Very lucky to have fallow and sika on the same ground. That looks a very heavy buck , dont envy moving that !!!!

there also red deer here mate.its on the local radio and the paper they want the army in to shoot them

theres alot of deer here.to much sheep wire up there from my liking cheers sounder :victory:

any time foxdropper u might teach me a trick or too,farmer just wants the thin out or gone.he said to me he counted 140 odd in one field one evening,i have lamped this place around here and have often counted from 10 to 40 in field.sounder

looks to me like a red, fallow hybrid, very large looking (long back legs) large brow tine's, but no plamation, have seen young fallow bucks with no palmation though, but he looks big..... :thumbs:

not a hybrid its a fallow it has palmation can't see in photo.cheers sounder
