Looking at geting a 4x4 iv got around 5k but that's including insurance and as I had a write off a year ago my insurance is arount 1500 to 2k depending on the 4x4 I'm looking at seen a patrol 2.8 and the insurance isn't that bad its an r plate lwb any problems I need to look out for or the other motors iv been looking at are legacys and foresters, what are these like on petrol ta tom

It was a 2.8 bud don't think I could afford to run the 4.2 version as it would be my only car. Iv seen a nice disco but been tolsd to try and stay away from landys as I'm not mechanical minded at all or iv been looking at the l200 which would be good as all the muck would be in the back

i had a 2.8 y61 trol and it was a good bus but 24mpg on a run and less than 20 around town.. the older y60 can get you around 30mpg on a run but these are rusty as hell so have a good look around..

 

for your money you are looking at an older rather than a newer y61. the 2.8 is better than 3.0 as the 3l breaks, often. i think in 3l you need newer than 05 or you need to save a couple of grand for the work doing when it goes kaput..

 

then it will kaput again if you are unlucky..

Worked it out got about 3k to 3.5k to spend on motor looking at a disco at the min the patrols iv seen have been old and look knacked or to dear lookin at discos at the min for about that can get an average looking td5 or a good looking 300tdi I want a 4x4 that is capable in a standered state
