any one tryed them what thay like can you get them with the dimmer on them do drain the batty less that a normal lightforce.

no dimmer but if ye got the filter on there not to bright best lamp about beam is just unreal

Very good lamps and although the light is blue you can change it by changing the bulb. Not the cheapest but if you want what they call closest light to daylight then it's something like 4200 or 3600 bulx you need the lower down you go the more yellow you go the higher up you go u go blue up to purple. But they are great lamps you can't beat them at all.

a mate of mine has one and he said it is certainly alot clearer light than the standard lamps however he said in his opinion they were not any good for lamping rabbits as you have a slight delay from when you press the switch until you see the beam. as has already been said he seems to think it would be good for larger quarry.

 

to be honest i can see more than i can bloody catch with my lightforce lance lamp.

I've heard they take a moment or two to "warm up"

Can't see to the end of my Striker's beam so might be OK for me on rabs LOL

My pal warms his up on his chest as we work bit of pain when you walk in a field and here something move and your not prepared ,I prefer the normal bulb with filter or dimmer instant light.

ive got the hid 170 striker brilliant lamp theres not much of a delay couple of seconds at most ok once the ballast heats up caught plenty of gear that would have went out of the beam with the normal 170 also blitz but i am dfaft

Does cold/freezing conditions delay the start up time of the HID type lamps in general or even stop them working altogether?
