Standing Up For Staffies

My Leader And I That Starry Night

One starry night my leader and I stood outside.

She sat down on the ground.

Looking up into the big dark sky.

Lit up with shining stars.

I sat there beside her, being her best friend.

There was a tear running down her face.

I gently licked it away.

She told me, thank you my friend.

That tear is for the Pit Bulls.

Whose lives were destroyed today.

They did not ask to be in the wrong hands.

They were born under a law.

That took them away.

Not given the chance to show people.

They could be better if given a second chance.

I listen to my leader as I tilt my head.

Another tear came down her face.

That my friend, is for all the animals,

Who lost their lives, because time was running out.

I licked away her tear again.

Snuggled in my head.

My friend she said, all of those stars represent one thing to me.

For all those animals that lost their lives today.

I designated each star tonight, for each life lost today.

As we sat there I listened to her.

She said I can not save the world.

But I can be a voice, for them who have went on.

In memory of all Pit Bulls who lost their lives.

My leader got up and I stood by her side.

My tail is wagging, I am glad she is by my side.

With all the current anti bull breed BS that covers the media at the moment I thought that I needed to share something that happened to me on Sunday................Once upon a time............. Serio

Theres little point breeding Staffies these days if you are in it for the money, there is none!.The only kind of staffy people seem to want these days are the blue staffies, and a large % of them these

Find most people through attachment or pride can't find faults in their own dogs. Far too many poor examples are bred. Always believed a dog should have to earn the right to be bred. Being a lovely do

My staffy is the tamest thing on earth....but I still won't let him off the lead. He was bitten by a little jack russle once whilst we were out beating. His response was shocking. He became almost out of control I'm sure if I hadn't of stopped he'd of killed it.

He's quite happy on a lead, and I occasionally take him to roam around my paddocks off the lead. But being a responsible dog owner I'd never let him out any other way.

I could t of asked for a better dog to be a pal of mine, but that's the trade off.

Another good point, he's major protective over my wife. We we're play fighting one day in the garden and he snapped at me. I have no doubt if some one was to break into our house whilst I was away they'd have the wrong end of him.
