Crazy Pup

The dogs trying it on, it's acting like all kids do. You need to learn to growl no when it does something wrong. If its trying to boss you, I'd take it out on the lead, work on recal etc. if kept in the house don't let it on furniture etc. a lot of small things add up to behavior problems. No need to scruff it about, pin it to the deck ffs  bones are funny things with dogs, it's like giving a kid the best sweet in the world, they f***ing love them. Avoid giving it any bones till you've sorted other stuff like recall to 100%.

My pup did the same at about 15 weeks old. After some really good advice I decided not to scruff the little c**t, Instead I put an empty bowl in front of him, then piece by piece put small meaty bits

Joe I hope you have the sense to realise which posts to take on board and which ones to discard........ A few informative posts but also some f***ing stupid ones.........

Joe... thats not good at all...   You should have been schooling her from the day you got her... giving her food... putting your hand in the bowl and any agression whatsoever... sorted it out there

I suppose if the dog lives in the house your going to get food+bone probs , as it little space it wants to enjoy it meal or bone, right bang in the house . that's why I think dogs living outside in there own kennel+run, this situation would never arise . they need there own space away from people+kids at some time in there day. its a shame really any dog got put into that situation in the 1st place  , but people will keep bringing dogs into there houses  , so this food+bone possessiveness which is natural anway, as got to be done from 9 weeks old, to stop dogs like that lab bitch biting . my brother got bit by Dalmatian years ago [BANNED TEXT] he was a kid, said the pain in his hand was like somebody slamming a door on it :icon_eek: a powerful breed like rottie, gsd, bull type must be horrendous when they bite

Aye mate, only time I've ever had dogs in the house is when they are retired or badly injured.

i had a young 5 month wheaten terrier try take the hand off me for taking a bone off him, i gave him the shaking of a lifetime. he responded by trying harder to bite me, with no luck. i tried it again two mins later , same result. third time he learned not to do it again. i was telling a friend of mine (a long time wheaten inthusiast) and he said the best "the best way to not get bit by a working bred wheaten when he has a bone is to leave him the f**k alone with it ! it was good advise in this particular case as the dog got older and stronger and meaner i didnt try again. this dog was as loyal and as friendly as they come, but nature of the beast i suppose. the point im making is i would approach each type / breed / personality different . i.e i would go easier on a saluki than i would a stronger minded lurcher . i wouldnt think twice about giving a highly driven strong minded dog a good scruffing if he went to grab me for taking food from him. i reckon every dog in your kennell should be treated , trained , repremanded on an indavidual basis depending on their nature

shes in the kitchen alot of the time, sometimes in crate or crate left open, and let out regular for the toilet, there is the odd time she will piss in kitchen but thats more my fault than hers. in recent weeks shes been allowed in the living room more again, this time try avoid playing with her, she will get the odd toy to chew on or she will lie on couch
