We Had A Tornado!

Recommended Posts

Yesterday afternoon, it wasn't actually raining for a few minutes, then in an instant it started really heavily beating on the windows and the wind picked up our bin and threw it down the garden. There was thunder and lightning then 5 minutes later it was all quiet again.

Just read in the paper it was a tornado. Cool! :icon_eek:

Just been out Forest of Dean way and I pulled over to check out the sky, went black in a few minutes then hammered me with hail and sleet. Bit of wind but I did think to myself that looks like the clouds you get in the US just before a Tornado!

Bloody wind, for a few years now I have noticed that the wind has changed, it always seem present now. I first noticed this in about 2005/6 but I thought I was just imagining things. Thing is my mum bumped into a chap she knew from childhood, he was a fisherman on the boats from boy to retirement and as they got talking it was one of the first things he said. Now this type of persons opinion about the weather is worth listening to  Over the last few years there have been quite a few tornados and water spouts over the south coast, near the solent.

We were lined out ready to start beating the second drive of the afternoon and it got windy as hell! Hiding behind a couple of massive trees and I could feel it swaying like f**k and you could hear trees cracking all around! I said to keeper " I'm not sure this is best place to be" he said we'll do this drive then I'm cancelling the rest of day! But as we started the drive it started to calm down and buy the time we finished it was bloody blue sky again!
