It's just a simple case of getting off your arse and getting out there mate. If you find a decent spot keep it to yourself but bare in mind...it may already be someone else's land/permission so tread carefully

Im all for giving help, advice and assistance, but if you don,t know where to take a dog to bush?,especially in rural Cheshire, what chance as the dog got?.Get off the computer and put some walking boots and specs on,look for an opportune lump of land, ask for permission, then sally forth regardless and take your chances. The only dogs that will ever become accomplished at anything are the ones that are owned by sharper and smarter lads/lasses.

take a lamp out at night. or one of those powerfull torches. search all the likely spots and dont forget to look for good ratting patches. also go out dawn and dusk and walk about looking for bunnies. its as simple as that. a pushbike is handy for this. it gives you a little more hight and is silent. once you spot where the rabbits / rats are. get out after them with your dog. simples.
