DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
It starts about a foot off the ground and finishes about 6 foot. In a small patch of woodland. I only saw it on this one tree...... Cheers...

DeerhoundLurcherMan 997
Would it not be on other surrounding trees if it was disease? Looks like physical damage? 6 foot beaver?

Outlaw Pete 2,224
It does look to have been bitten, rather that scratched in any way. Deer stand on their back legs to get at things. Perhaps that tree has some condition that has attracted deer to eat it? I have sitka spruce on my own land. They get hit by a certain fungus. One or two of my trees have been effected. None of the others were. Tree diseases then don't necessarily run through a stand like wild fire. Or, maybe it's just super mutant six foot hares? Bedi Whippet would soon sort those f**kers out!
