plant 25
my whippet bitch is 12 now very good lamping dog in her day.. easy to train but very head strong wanted to kill every thing that moved . she could turn on a six pence but her back feet were knackered after 5 years ...just a house dog now she's from sooty sam lines.... i use bigger lurchers for lamping now with better feet ... you will definitely have some exciting runs with a whippet atb Quote Link to post

ferreterni 29
What about a whippet cross? I have a 3/4 whippet 1/4 saluki. Have two from same litter, one is around 19" tts at 7 months. But she has a coat on her like my jack russell. Water just beads off it. Everything else that is put as a plus for the whippet is there, the coat is a big bonus though. Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
For a purely lamp dog I wouldn't go for anything under 22" tts. Quote Link to post

ferreterni 29
Not done much with them yet. Few mooches about, signs are promising. Nice biddable dogs, nosey, air and ground scenting. Deliberately keeping her off ground where she likely to see rabbits yet. Time enuff next season.for that. All in all very pleased with them, and typical feet warmers in the house Quote Link to post
