baw 4,360
I'm not saying all dog peddlers are theifs, but that where a lot end up. . . And if a man will lie to make money off dogs I wouldn't trust them in general! And I'd kind of hope that if my dogs were stolen and someone got hold of them. . And even after 6 months . .... Saw on here that they had been stolen .....that I'd get them back. But apparently not. No wonder the dog theifs get away with it so much...... But hey, going on your earlier thoughts. If your dogs been nicked, it's your own fault, should have ha better security and not been so naive right? It's a good lesson. Lol mate, I ain't gonna bite, you'll need to try harder I don't trust no c**t I don't know, it's kept me in good stead so far. I only get dogs from guys I trust, if others don't, hell mend them I say. Life's a bitch then you die Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
Taking free dogs off gumtree etc.... most of which are from families who cant look after them...for whatever reason ... and are given away in the hope that the recipient will look after and care for the dog.... Then selling it on... Doesnt sit right with me. A dogs more likely to be better looked after if money changes hand so I'd say, it's more chance of finding a good home. And i would say that too....But when people give something away... They do it... in the hope that the person recieving it... Isnt going to profit from it... Its preying on folks decency IMO. Why would they give anything away wanting someone not to profit from it? I'd have thought their concern would be hoping the dog lived out its life in a good home, not fretting wondering if some c**ts made a few quid from it. If you gave a mate it then yes, you have a point but not a stranger. How many of the dogs given away in good faith.... have been completely conned out of them? ...With the ' aye, ill look after... care for...shes just what my kids want... wife will love her' speil? ... Then advertised on the net later that day for hard cash? ... Its morally wrong to me... Your right that everybody isnt trustworthy.... but you can only believe what you know... Id never give away one of my dogs... nor sell then to any body... The day i pick then up... its a commitment from me to do right by the dog... The main reason ill NEVER breed a litter... is because the pups wouldnt go to any fecker.... If i couldnt 100% guarantee a great home... they would be staying put... And i couldnt... not for a full litter anyway.. Ill let somebody do the worrying instead.. ill just pay my money... Its a chance you take giving/selling a dog... But to purposely decieve somebody... is wrong ... I totally agree with you mate. BUT, I see the world slightly different. If someone gives someone the patter to get a dog and sells it, I'm more inclined to say the one giving it away should know better. It's a big bad world out there, lessons for some people are only learned by experiences in life. As I said earlier, as soon as anything is no longer valuable to you and your giving it away, what happens to it is no longer your business. I personally wouldn't do it but I don't have a problem with folk getting stuff of gumtree for free and selling it on to earn a crust.Just because somebody gives something away mate.... doesnt meant its no longer valuable to them...I give catapults away all the time.... theyre valuable to me... i made them... bit want somebody to get the enjoyment out of them... that i get... Its good faith.... But if i gave somebody a catapult for free... and they sold it for money... i would be a wee bit hacked off... People who give dogs away do it for a reason... either because... like you said-they dont want it... Or my bet... is the majority THINK it will go to somebody who really wants it. If you put your catapult on gumtree for free would you be suprised or annoyed if someone took it and sold it? Serious question. I wouldnt put it up for free to somebody i had never spoken to before... And a dog is worlds apart from a catapult... But yes... if i gave a catapult away for free... i would be annoyed... A bald tyre... and old cabinet... an old bed.... no... Catapults take time to make... effort and work goes into them... An old bed or cabinet is a buckshee item you want rid of... or skipped... Back to my original point... Its the underhandedness...and sly tactics employed to get these dogs... Lying to somebodys face.... How many actually say "nice dog... be on gumtree for 150quid tonight" ... I bet not many... if any.... Most owners would tell then to sling their hook! ... Must break some peoples hearts... and kids... to see their dog on gumtree for sale... After believing they gave their dog to a good guy... and a good home. 2 Quote Link to post

andy97 209
Brandon or bishop Auckland his name came up a while back with regards to dog thefts in that area, think he used to take on free lurchers and peddle em on for cash via free ads guntree etc, pure scum from what I heartheres one doing the same on p4h buying dogs n just selling them at silly money An I the only one who doesn't see a problem with this? As soon as you give up the rights of ownership of a dog, it's got fuckall to do with you what happens to it. If you want a say in how a dogs kept, used, sold, etc, don't sell it or give it away, it's really that simple. the problem with this is hes selling them as 100% day n night dogs hes sold 20 plus dogs in the last month all excellent workers Quote Link to post

Would you tell the owner etc and try to help? Or just leave them to it? That depends, we talking about a saluki here course I'd tell the owner. all this is interesting but I still couldn't care less about someone getting a dog and making money selling it on. But I'm sure a lot of adult dogs for sale are like this. Bottom line, every c**t lies when the sell stuff. He ain't the only one. I don't know the guy, so it makes no difference to me.
