mackay 3,330
Depends what has been said or decided when a person parts with a dog. It's not as clear cut and simple as the fact you parted with it and therefore have no say. What if you gave someone you thought was genuine (mistakenly) a dog on the understanding if for whatever reason it didn't work out you would have it back, and then find the same person had sold it on to a total wankpit owner. 3 Quote Link to post

Peddlers are fine and everyone knows who the dog theirs are in their local area but do f**k all. before the internet an peddling became an issue if you needed a dog you went to someone who always had a few about them an took your chance, if wasnt up to standard it was back as a trade in, i dont have a problem with it to be honest Quote Link to post
B.P.R 2,798
Taking free dogs off gumtree etc.... most of which are from families who cant look after them...for whatever reason ... and are given away in the hope that the recipient will look after and care for the dog.... Then selling it on... Doesnt sit right with me. 10 Quote Link to post

See if someone said to me when I was buying a dog, I want the dog back if your selling it, I'd hand them it back there and then. You sell a dog because you don't want it, end of. If you want it back after I've put years of work into it, tough. If circumstances change and I needed to get rid of a dog I'd give it to good mates I trust. It really is that simple. 2 Quote Link to post

BIGLURKS 874
l Brandon or bishop Auckland his name came up a while back with regards to dog thefts in that area, think he used to take on free lurchers and peddle em on for cash via free ads guntree etc, pure scum from what I heartheres one doing the same on p4h buying dogs n just selling them at silly moneyAn I the only one who doesn't see a problem with this? As soon as you give up the rights of ownership of a dog, it's got fuckall to do with you what happens to it. If you want a say in how a dogs kept, used, sold, etc, don't sell it or give it away, it's really that simple. guys earning himself some cash buying and selling simple asuse are right there it's the same as buying a car and selling it on or buying some sheep or cattle and getting a better price then the next person 2 Quote Link to post
desertbred 5,490
This is where the differences come ,dog men who are in the game for the love of the dogs, dog peddlers who profess to be in it for the love of it but do it for money and the theiives the scum who steal a dog need to be shafted plain and simple, the peddlers do what you do but dont try to show you are anything but a peddler and dogmen just make sure nothing of yours goes to either of the other two types. 6 Quote Link to post

But when people give something away... They do it... in the hope that the person recieving it... Isnt going to profit from it... Its preying on folks decency IMO. 4 Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
This thread is pretty illuminating. Saint? No, just think I've got a few morals. Nice to know that some of our members would happily peddle a few dogs for cash. 1 Quote Link to post
