I thought as much, the odds of a regular rotation are slim to zero with wireline unless things have changed but they do tell people that to get them in. Schlum had guys doing 7 on 2 off and some of them had to go in to the office during their time off plus live in Aberdeen :icon_eek:

I used to do the north sea but I found 2 weeks off wasn't enough between hitches, it took a few days to relax and I would start getting wound up a few days before going away which only left a few quality days and the stress was doing me in so I went overseas...well they say be careful for what you wish for I got more time at home between jobs but it wasn't uncommon to do a 7 week hitch and that was in Algeria which is a massive dump of a place

That first paragraph is pretty much exactly what I was told, Nick. Shite job and you're living waiting on your phone to ring. I wouldn't work for Schlumberger generally I don't think, fecking work-aholics!

Besides, I'm going to invent something that'll make me a millionaire........................ just got to figure out what it is.

There's more important things in life than money

Work to live, not live to work.   Years ago I packed a job in to replace it with a job earning half the money I was on, made some adjustments and now go to work with a smile on my face.   We're a

When you say closer how many hours more would you have at home ?? Because if its only an hour or so over a week then youd be best where you are but if your talking an hour or so a day at home then I'd take it.

Another thing is you need to think is how reall worse off would you be with the likes of wear and tear on the motor and fuel ect

If your only talking say upto 100 or so then I'm sure if you set your mind to it you'd be able to make that else where,

Currently away for a month, then at home for a month!

Could be in my own bed every night, but would not actually be able to get involved with some of the day to day things as I'd be away at my job if I take the 'at home' one.

Just now I can go to bits and pieces with the youngsters every other month.....

Well,

Just read all the replies......and.....

I'm still non the wiser what I will do!

Good and Bad points with both options :hmm:

Like my time off I currently get, but the s**t we have to put up with when away is what's getting on my wick the noo.

Nothing dangerous, or hazardous, just constant pointless 'hastles' and niggling cr*p that grinds ya down after a while.

Maybe I'm just going through a phase

I can hear myself turning into one of those whinging c**ts I cannot stand, and who only make things worse! :icon_redface:
