Malt 379
This is what were up against gaggle of ill informed So called naturalists some with uni degrees along side ex children's tv presenters coming out with comments wrote for them by pc script writers i qoute " the culling of deer is very expensive and very controversial " try telling that to estates who make income. From stalking and foresters gamefully employed in this profesion , the the best one the fox oh i forgot " THE URBAN FOX " has never set foot in mertha or kettering lol. They dont half talk some bollocks on those BBC programs.. What would be controversial would be leaving the deer herds grow to the size where they can't get enough food and start starving to death..

Do you remember the episode of Autumn watch when they had a deer expert on and he went on to talk about culling, they cut him off really quickly. I remember seeing David Attenborough on the one show and they done a piece on deer hunting with dogs. Chiles then put on his serious face and tried to get Attenborough to condone it. Old Attenborough sat back, crossed his arms and legs and said 'Well, they've got to be culled somehow because we've removed all the large predators. The problem here is the people who own the land think they own all the wildlife on it as well..' Chiles got a bit red in the face and moved quickly on to the TV chef who was sat next to him. 'But surely the meat is spoiled once its been caught by a dog, its of no use to anyone?' The chef said something about the meat coming already tenderised, him and Attenborough laughed and Chiles quickly changed the subject all together! I've looked for that clip on YouTube ever since I saw it to put it up here but I've never been able to find it..

keepdiggin 9,561
They'll bring the wolf back to control the red deer rather then letting hunters control their numbers. I'd of thought there was more then 50,000 urban foxes in the UK.

Yeh it's nuts, and I bet once the wolves realise there's much easier prey to be had like livestock and eating out of bins they'll probably not hunt the deer
