Having tried CCI, Winchester, Eley subs (40g HP) I have settled on Magtech, they seem to have the edge for me (just) and are about the cheapest of the lot which can't be bad.

Fast ammo is difficult but having used loads I'm happy with Mr Remingtons Yellow Jackets (HP). For a real thump I use CCI Velocitors, other very fast CCI stuff produces poor groups (the Velocitor isn't brilliant).

Need to add that although I shoot Short Siberia 200yards target with the .22 (surprisingly good results, most commonly Federal 40g solid) it's primary use is hunting!

Tool is:- CZ Bolt Action, Full Length Barrel, Sak Moderator, and often off the Harris Bipod!

Horses for courses... you'll find people like both on here. Personally i use eley subs as i find the very accurate and CCi Velocitor High Velocity for the occasional fox or long range coney.

winchester power points how come you all use subbies and do you use a coke botle too

The subs are popular because through a .22LR with a moderator they are very quiet, but I personally shoot a lot of fast stuff as well and the moderator whilst still useful has limited effect.

My centrefires have moderators too, but when I consider the cost of screw cutting, the moderator, re-proofing, final balance of the gun, the flag pole I am carrying around and the extra long rifle slip, I wonder if I made the right decision. It certainly has an effect on the initial bang but the sonic boom is still ******* loud!!!

 nothing you can do about the wallop at the other end as well but i'd rather have one than not. They go a little way to preventing muzzel flip after the shot on a full bore and although the noise reduction only really applies to the side and rear of the shooter.
