I was reading about this earlier and it made me think about the French team. With a lot of overseas players playing in key positions in the french leauge, and the way the french team has been performing of late.

Does the panel think that having too many foreign superstars in key positions can have a detremental effect to a national side?

Another question arises that is, is Wales going to benifit from key players playing in other leauges / countries?

I don't think it'll be of any detriment to us tbh, its no real secret that we play a fairly simple game based on our power and fitness, the thing we rely on is being able to sustain that for 80 mins, which we've been able to do in the last 2 championships.

What worries me is if a team can match us physically and we can't play our usual power game then we are lacking a little bit of creativeness.

Agreed.. You can't argue with the results, but we lack the flair that we've had at times in the past..

That would be Gatlandball? I do agree with what your saying. I just wish he would trust players instincts more. 1/2p is a typical example although he is a converted winger he is also a playmaker, I often wonder how frustrated he feels when he spots a chance, yet is under orders to punt the ball back to them to keep them in their own 25, hoping to win a lineout to stage an attack from the return ball?

I think our players playing in France is doing us world of good ,their getting the high tempo games every week which they need ,were devolvping youngsters in their places and they get the game time with these key players over seas ,the only thing is public suffers and supporters ,six nations always tight to call ,but 2 teams i support Wales and any f****r playing England :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh:

What up with Bigger? Is he injured? I take it Hook is the replacement OH amongst other positions?

The bench does not look to have many impact players, Ken Owens usually makes the gain line. The rest it seems as if they are there just to cover injuries. I would be surprised if the 60 minute change around happens, and most players baring injury will be on for the match.

Reading into this, one last chance for him to step up against the easiest opposition in the red jersey I reckon:

"We feel like at the moment we've stuck our necks out a little bit and given Rhys Priestland the opportunity. A couple of weeks ago he had a couple of good games for the Scarlets, but then we know how well Dan Biggar's been going, and how reliable he is. He's missed out on the squad.

"Then we've got James Hook who's come onto the bench, and probably gives us a little bit more cover in terms of the options and positions he can play whether it's at 10 or 15 - we've even used him in the midfield as well.

"That was a tough call, but Rhys gets the nod at 10, and there's a certain amount of pressure for him to go out there and perform and hopefully do well, because if he doesn't, there are plenty of players in there who can step up.
