Very similar website address to Blackpool Air Rifles... Wonder if they've had any problems?

I'll vouch for Lloyd and crew never ever saw anything untoward in there in years used to go in for a brew and a natter plus a purchase

This plum on the other hand   ffs don't send them ya rifles

You don't need to vouch for anyone mate. BAR and "miles" are worlds apart.

Couldn't agree more!

Bit fishy for this plonker to go with a similar website though... The same way people mispell other sites in order to get you to visit them! :whistling:

As for the business model...

Andy's right. This is how commerce works. Everything you buy is marked up, the difference being the shop's profit margin. Don't you have the option not to buy, or sell, to them? :hmm:

To my knowledge, money and morality have never been bedfellows.

Uh!! I feel a bit gazumped now especially with the credit terms we agreed. I thought I was on to a winner when you said the APR was only 4563%

Never mind. Perhaps I could start a thread similar to the "permission wanted" ones??

Before retirement I ran a very competitive and successful business for over thirty years. My business model included a minimum of 100% mark up on bought in goods. Did I rip people off? No I didn’t, the mark up enabled me to provide the first class service my customers expected.

Why should someone who is enterprising enough to trade in second hand air rifles be vilified? No one is forcing prospective customers to trade with their company. If you don’t like the terms and conditions, go somewhere else.

Personally I think this thread needs terminating as all it is doing is attracting rebel-rousing to further taint the character of a banned member.

Regards, Steve

why would 100% mark up enable you to offer any better customer service to 30% or a 1% mark up its the same concept as saying a bank loan over 1 year is say 4.9% interest but a short term loan from a pay day loan company needs to charge over 1000% interest to offer the same customer service, :hmm:

Employee’s wages, business premises and other overheads have to come from somewhere. Even charitable organisations can’t live on fresh air.

so that mean that everyone in business marks up 100% :hmm: most manufacturing in the uk always worked on thirds, 1 third raw material, 1 third manufacturing costs and 1 third profit, cheap imports that could undercut these costs killed it from the 1970`s onwards, these new business work on the model of something is only worth as much as how fast they need to part with it, the more the economy is biased the less they can get away with paying, what happened to running a business nowadays its all about a fast buck !!

Working on thirds necessitates a 200% mark on raw materials as you clearly explain. So why is a mark up of 100% on raw materials such a big issue?

Steve I take your comments on board and to be honest this thread was left up not to discuss business models or e comerce or whatever. Nor to discredit past banned members. Even if a few pokes and prods have been pointed in that direction.

Business is business and I can't fault anybody in having a go. No matter the man.

Any business or money making scheme is susceptible to criticism and ridicule. This is no different. Am I going to get a wonga loan? No! Am I going to sell my air rifle dot com? No! Am I really going to buy mushrooms granny who has water retention issues? Well that's not open for discussion on a forum.

After all the shite with the "G" low life's over the past years and their malicious activitys. When I first saw this thread their name instantly sprung to mind. And I bet it pinged in others minds too.

This thread was left up to see what folks thoughts were as to who was behind the website and also to gain clarification. Just think of the drama that would unfold if it was the "G" brothers grim.

This thread is causing no harm. And all is open for discussion.

The website owner/creator has every right to do what they are doing. Best of luck to them.
