gnasher16 30,024
Arsene Wenger on Mata to United - "It's not fair..." It ain't meant to be fair, the very reason you sign new players is to give yourself an advantage against other teams! Must admit i agree with him.....lets just pretend it wasnt Mata but Messi......and lets say Messi is worth 2 goals per game.......so you play Chelsea twice and you,ve dropped 4 goals to him....but never mind you aint got to play against him again...................................then he pops up in a Man Utd shirt and sticks another 2 past you !! Dont seem right to me i think this window should be done away with full stop.

Not a fan of the January window myself and I said earlier on in the thread that this transfer could benefit Chelsea in the way you're saying it might, but Wenger and Arsenal have the same right to strengthen their squad in this window as anyone else.. Just because he don't agree with it and won't use it don't mean other teams shouldn't either out of fairness to him and his team..

From a football point of view, I don't think fair comes into it........as a team you want to strengthen your squad, bring in good players that are not only good players in their own right but will also make those around them up their game. If as a team you get punished by a player in a certain area of the pitch you should learn from it and strengthen that area......not cry about it. That's how I would look at it as a player or manager anyway.
baw 4,360
The rules are there for everyone, no one has broke any rules, dry your eyes wenger, your showing fear. Man U has lost two forwards because they are errrr injured. I'm sure they'd be stronger with them 2 playing than anybody they get in.
Malt 379
liverpool lost out on mohamed salah now shame that as seemed a good player!! No flies on Jose mate.. He's strengthened United and gave them a lift when they still have to play his title rivals, got rid of a player who didn't fit into his team for a tidy sum, pissed Wenger off and then used some of the Mata cash to steal a player from under Liverpool's noses!
WILF 46,534
I think it's easy to view Jose as a bit of a media whore but IMHO he is one sharp manager........I don't think he does anything for no good reason. He is up there with the very best, love or hate him, it's true and he has got the trophies to prove it

Totally agree mate, to me sport (and I can only relate this to football cause that's all I played) is % attitude and 20% ability.........with the right attitude your ability can improve but ability without the right attitude is a waste of time IMHO. Certain managers and players have the gift of lifting any player around them who has the right attitude to heights he never dreamed he could reach ability/form wise. They have an aura that just flows off them........not every player or manager has it and they will forever be mediocre IMHO
Malt 379
Just seen Pelagrini moaning about how players shouldn't be allowed to be sold within the same league during the winter window! They won't say f**k all if Fulham manage to sign Morrison from West Ham or if Cardiff sign Fabio Da Silva from United this window.. Funny how 'fairness to the league' as mentioned by Wenger and all only applies when it might effect your club and prospects...

Don't take this the wrong way mate because you seem a decent lad, but your fans ain't worth a wank. Laptop footy fans who have never kicked a ball in anger, half of who go there because they think its "trendy" to follow Chelsea......football people know the score with a manager like Jose. They should count themselves lucky that football wise, they have the whole package at the moment. Short memories mate, short memories
