jukel123 8,903
What percentage of dogs classed as ' all rounders', are exactly as described on the tin? In other words how many will retrieve all quarry single handed, put in a long nightshift without losing any keeness and also be capable of retrieving fur and feather on a day's mooch? I would suggest not many. I reckon only ten to twenty per cent of lamping dogs are genuine, single -handed all rounders at night and competent day time moochers. But maybe I've only seen poorish dogs? If you look on Preloved there's always plenty of so called top dogs available at pup prices, but methinks a lot of sellers on Preloved talk with fork tongues. lapin2008 1,587
the percentage of dogs that could have made all rounders is much higher than the number that actually are. The difference between the potential and the actual end up on preloved as 100% dogs for sale 'through no fault of their own' The things you list are what should be expected from any average, decent sized lurcher but the dog has to be given the opportunities first 1 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
retrieve all quarry single handed, put in a long nightshift without losing any keeness and also be capable of retrieving fur and feather on a day's mooch? Isn't that what a lurcher is? Or at least what it should be... 1 Quote Link to post
