scothunter 12,609
Been reading his autobiography. Now i always knew his capabilities as a brillaint tactician, and stories of him standing on his tank at dunkirk and saluting the captured 51st highlanders, but this story i read i found pretty amusing. due to the fact he pushed so far in front, his supply lines couldnt keep up.well anyway it was common practise between both the British and germans to leave field hospitals behind as they pushed forward. well Rommel travelling in his captured british mammoth personal carrier.sees a field hospital assuming it to be german he stopped, and before he knew it he was being showed around the ward with a british medical officer.(who said later he thought he was a polish officer) Rommel quicklly noticed his error and cut this visit short. there were injured german pows in some of the beds with eyes sticking out there sockets as there commander in chief walked by them. lol they had the good sense not to give him away though lol incidentally the pictures you often see of him,he always has driving goggles round his neck. British issue they are

scothunter 12,609
he was frowned upon by some SS officer caause he found a british escape funny. aye he certainly made an impression, even old churchill mentioned him 3 times in parliment. didnt stop him send the sas twice to kill him though lol no he wasnt a nazi your right, but was friendly with goebbels and thought it highly innapproriate of the british to send indians and other non whites to fight him. little did he know his own side were soon to adopt the same tactic lol

Nik_B 3,790
One of the greatest tanks the tiger , Rommel wasn't a nazi I personally think the Panther was a much better tank but it was a late comer to the war. It had a much more modern design i.e. sloping armour and while the gun was smaller it was still highly effective especially against anything we had. The tiger was pure brute force, thick non-sloping armour and a bigger gun but much less maneuverable. It probably has a better success rate statistically because the Panther arrived too late for it to have worked through the design faults.

British issue they are Goering was quoted as saying he was going to buy a British radio after the war because he knew it would work, after a Mosquito attack knocked him off the air while giving a radio broadcast. They wouldn't want f**k all off us these days..
