baw 4,360
It's a tough old game, rewards are high and so are the dangers. Every time we slip our friends it can easily be there last. Would they have it any other way? Not every lurcher born gets the chance to feel what it's like to run down its quarry, feel that sense of primal freedom and fulfill its sole purpose in life, to hunt and kill. If they knew the risk when we slip them would they take it? You better believe it. Your not replacing a dog, your getting another companion to give you and it that feeling like no other dog or human knows. Many a dog would give up their life to experience that feeling and unfortunately, a lot of them do. But there is an ever lasting supply of volunteers waiting for the chance, pick one and allow it that chance. 6 Quote Link to post

NickF 50
RIP. I lost a dog last year, it is sickening. I got another pup and it does get you back on the straight and narrow path. Poor bitch got hit herself New Years eve but she lives and will recover, when it was touch and go I was already determined to get another. As baw said the chance for them and you to work together should always be taken imho. atb and enjoy the memories and look forward to create some more Quote Link to post
