paulus 26
Thornit powder hasn't worked both me dogs have it could it be a ear infection but would the ear skink infection will smell but mites smells yeasty. if both dogs have it, its probably mites they can get secondary infections from scratching when they break the skin, try a liquid mite treatment, canaural or similar may be a course of anti biotic as well if the have a secondary infection

roybo 2,873
what i thought was ear mites then told by the vet was flea allergy turned out to be a "hot spot " and was told to use rock sulphur in their water and as paulus said probably secondary infection due to scratching, need to stop them scratching, maybe use a head collar and get the infection sorted Edited March 17, 2014 by roybo
