Armed Self Defence ~ Ukip .....

well i can assure you if someone broke into my house and i was in.im not going to sit there and do nothing.

depending on how threatned and how lucky i am will determine which one of us goes to hospital lol

but i can quite confidently say,if it did happen when i was going down to confront them, gun wouldnt be foremost in my mind, but i wouldnt be long in knowing, cause the dug would get the first bullet lol

So you would prefer to engage an intruder with either bat/knife or just ya bare hands, rather than give yourself a clear power superiority by arming yourself with a firearm?

Given the choice, I'd be picking up a legally owned CQB 12 gauge or pistol. The greater my level of superiority in a violent situation the happier and safer I'll be.

my good old trusty alloy bat lol

maybe its just me mate, never really been a gun person tbh. and it certainly wouldnt give me a sense of superiority.most likely i wouldnt shoot them, cause the likely hood of them been armed is slim to zero, and therfore id be shooting an unarmed man or teenager and regardless of the legality, that wouldnt sit well with me at all.on the other hand a few cracks with a bat wont give me a guilt a trip lol

I wouldn't trust half the fuckwits in this country to cut about with a toothpick never mind a Glock !!!

What language do you speak ..........

The chances of being robbed when you are laying in your bed is very remote indeed and most burglars want in and out with no noise and maximum stash ... But there are bad people out there that will wa

Don't missunderstand what I mean by 'superiority', it's not some ego power trip mate, LOL. It's literal power, if I have a gun I am more powerful than if I had a bat or just my naked ass body. That's what I mean by power superiority. If you were going to war would you want to take the 16th Air Assault Brigade or the Boy Scouts?

Yeah, I'll admit I like guns, loved shooting pistols recreationaly when I got the chance in the states and love shooting shotguns and rifles in this country recreationaly. It's fun, I'll make no secret of that.

As for shooting dead an intruder, f**k I don't want to kill an unarmed low threat individual! But I should not be at any risk at all when engaging an intruder who I have no idea how threatening they really are. Look at poor fecking reaper, got stabbed for stopping some scrote turning his car over literally this week! If he had been trained and able to use a firearm he could simply have engaged them from a safe distance and if they tryed to stab him he could have defended himself. And if he thought, f**k it I'll call em out then do both the wankers regardless, then tough shit in my book, the fuckers would have known the risks.

fair doos mate ,been a good discussion.its not something i would like to see in this country, and imo there nothing that makes me feel its warranted.

my views might very well change if the uk became a nation of gun owners.then i would maybe feel the need to get one, which i really didnt want to do!

The other question to ponder is .... How many would actually pull the trigger ??? ...........

I imagine that woman on Walshies post was how most people would be thinking.

The problem with pulling a gun out is a person is then forced to either use it of have it taken off them and maybe used against themselves. I'm be much more in favour of non lethal weapons like Tazers being allowed in anyones house but illegal on the streets, those that already have shotguns have the means to protect themselves but could they get it out of the cabinet and load it in time? If you do have the time are you in imminent threat?

The only situation that having a weapon would work out is if you wake up in the middle of the night hearing someone in your house, get the gun etc out and stand at the top of your stairs, call a warning that if they try to come up the stairs their getting shot. Walking in to a dark downstairs room with a long gun is suicide.

You're more qualified to answer that than me Socks...... with training how many soldiers crumble in a life or death situation?

More than you think mate  .... Which is what prompted my question .......

I'm sure many do mate, when faced with kill or be killed, how many will just freeze I wonder, it's an interesting question alright. It's one thing having the courage to engage a threat, that I imagine many will turn from, it's another to stand frozen and let an agressor 'do you'.

Lift the gun, center of mass and squeeze the trigger before your agressor leaves you incapable. Not really much choice in the situation I'd of said but what do I know.
