GUTTED

Recommended Posts

At this time of year I find out today I've not got a dog for the season!

I only have a young dog and a pup. My dog for this year had an accident and a mate let me borrow a dog to bring on & use this winter but today he got an offer for her he cannot refuse.

So it leaves me in the lurch.

A total shot in the dark. Has anyone or know of anyone, that may have a dog available for this year.

I am willing to travel for the right dog and for the right price. Not meaning to offend but I don't want crap.

Otherwise I'm going to end up decorating! Help!

Many thanks :toast:

I cant help sorry, but I can sympathise with your predicament, I wanted to breed my bitch last year so I would have a pup for this year, but I had an adult bitch come to my kennel in season and that knocked 2 of my bitches into season early, and they took a kind of false season where they hardly swelled up and neither would stand a dog anywhere near them, so I missed the boat and had to wait til this year. I have a pup out of her which I wont be able to do any serious work with til next season. Im buying a theoben to keep me occupied over the winter months, I will shoot some rabbits to keep me sane til I have a dog to run. Best of luck to you, its a gamble taking on an adult dog, I couldnt do it but it works for some - hope you stike lucky

i was in the same boat mate when 2 pups i reared went pear shaped the bitch i had was doing real good at 14 month old out of the blue started barkin when chasing the bitch was not out matched or out but thats the way it goes. and the dog never had the lungs so i bought a young dog in and he is going

ok not a world beater but is geting better the more he gets and gives his all so cant ask any more than that.but taking on a adult dog is a big risk if you do make shure you get the dog on a trial just incase it dont do the job. good luck with your serch mate . :drink: chester

Well I emailed him to see if I could get the £100 without having to take the dog  but he said no, and then offered me £250 to take it off his hands, Im tempted what do you guys think? Would it be any good for single handed rabbits during the day or will it not have the pace?
