Air Rifle Shoots Without Pulling The Trigger

hi i hope some one can help me with this problem.i got my hands on a used ar2078a for my grandson but when i try to cock it. it will fire strait away without pulling the trigger. .

Sounds like someone may have messed with the trigger so when you cock it doesn't engage the sear. May be well off the mark but it's a start.

type qb 78 trigger into google .you can see the trigger maybe needs oil or a sping has popped of or broken .Or the hammer may not be able to comeback far enough to engage the sear properly for some reason.

i will take it apart and have a look . the trigger do.s seem to be very light to the pull

the owner of the rifle had the trigger on a light pull.so light that it was dangers. i have been using it for a bit now.i did a chronoscope it today it shooting at 13.40 ft.lds. so i will have to lower it down some.
