It is just an extension of the class divide. If you cannot afford to go peak time then you just cannot go. As always with this fecked up country if your rich, you can do what you like, if you poor you have to do as your told. I was referring to your children and how you'd choose to 'educate' them. What I said was marginally tongue in cheek but I wouldn't expect you to get that. If your entire family works in education and they all think it's a total disgrace then maybe they should seek another career path as they're not going to be trying their best or the best advocates for the curriculum they're working with. TC I have a standard of living but that has nothing to do with money......sometimes I haven't had a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of, I just don't think 2 weeks in some place with a load of other tourists is more important than 2 weeks of education. Malt 379 Posted January 16, 2014 Report Share Posted January 16, 2014 how many weeks holiday do they get as it is----its not the schools that are at fault like gnash touched on earlier its the rip off holiday companys would`nt be an issue if holidays were fairly priced in the 5-6 summer holiday ,,,,,,i never found it a problem getting a cheap holiday in the sun it was either book up early or go last minute i cant remember having time out of school for a holiday when i was a kid and most areas had a shut down period leicester/nottingham fortnight and it happened all over the country so thats when you took your family holiday ----- That's because planes weren't invented when you were a kid mate.. The mother in law says they used to have a trades fortnight up in Aberdeen years ago two when all the workmen went on holiday and everything closed down. Sounds like the same sort of thing maybe? Never had any bother with him myself, but one of my brothers went though a phase and this fella used to pick him up and escort him to school on his way into work until he packed it in!
