FFS it ain't rocket science ... Eat sensibly ... Cut down on the booze ... Give up the fags and get out and push yourself pounding the pavements ... Remember when your out of breath you havnt pushed y

Look mate ,just get out running as I said if you can run 5 mile you wont be far off ,I've taken a few through different training depots ,running 5 mile will get you to a base level ,.then you can leav

your obviously young so your recovery times will be fairly good. make sure you stretch off well after each session to rid the lactic acid from your muscles, you should be ok to train everyday after 2

I started boxing and had a fight in 8 weeks coming up id not jogged once before the 8 week intense training started , I found 30 second sprints and a 10 second rest brought my recovery time down so fast I found myself jogging 5.5 mile in 35 mins then boxing then jogging again home . if you want it enough nothing is impossible I have bronichal asthma and I culdnt believe the difference in myself when your fit everything about you changes theres no better feeling stick at it pal and like I said if you want it bad enough youll push through the coughing fits and green shite off your lungs theres a reward at the end and only you can make it happen good luck .

I'm not sure if anyone mentioned it but diet is Important.............................. Get them carbs into you and a few bananas .

It's no use training hard and eating the wrong foods.

Over load on the carbs and you'll find it easier don't eat for at least two hours before you train.

And last of all keep lying to your self ........ when your forked tell your self you'll go a bit further then walk ......when it comes to were you told yourself you'd walk .........keep jogging

hope it helps

'100pressups....100situps and a 1.5mile run in under 8min 30seconds'

Thats ^ a good rate....not outrageous if you know it's on the menu but a good rate all the same, need to think about disciplines with cardiodynamics combined (smooth flow). Prefer 5 x1 minute press-ups (30 sec's down/30 sec's up-cont loop-no margin for cheats), the chatalots give that one a miss and the common denominator with the very few kids that do it on thier virgin attempt is they seem to be all able to lift thier own body weight (CJ) single handedly

Bulb of beetroot hr before a run, ball o wool, the caffeine's a gud tip, rob you of 3% of your best before you've started.

1030 for a mile and a half is bare minimum. Dont let any one on here kid you if you cant do that then you need to train harder. You dont want to be scraping by. You will get stick continually through your career, attracting unwanted attention in training to being looked upon as useless in your unit. Start your career with the attitude that you mean to keep, whether your in for 4 years or 24.

I've had a quick run through of that in my head, now suppose on average you take 0.66s per press up and 0.66s per sit up, that's obviously 3 in every 2s so 133s total. That means you have little over 6mins to run 1.5mi right? That's a 4 minute mile.....

You don't think that's outrageous for the average human?

He means just the run in 8.5mins  ...

You get 2 minutes for the pressups/situps respectively....

These tests are just a basic gauge of somebodys fitness...

I mean... when are you actually going to run 1.5mile in shorts and a t-shirt in the army? ....

Your not... except for PT...

..

The poster of those expected results did not mention an average human....you did.

But I'm right in what I have inferred from your post?

So, you believe the average squaddie possesses anything more genetically than the average human? Which was my point.

I'm not looking for an argument mate, I'm sure you know more than I do about fitness. Just discussion.
