My nan makes a mean welsh cake nans always cook the best food haha I did go through johnnyboys in the fishing trip like a trainmind haha

ain't that the truth my grans cooking was amazing. She made a veg stew of some sort and a crispy suet pudding. I have never yet been able to get close to it. Pretty sure it had chickpeas in or maybe even beans. Used to polish off plates of the stuff after a day out with the dogs as a kid. As for her yorkshire puddings well I ain't got no chance

Very good of you to offer.....but a big tough Welsh boy from the valleys sending me some cakes is just too much for my ego to cope with

Next time we play Cardiff or Swansea i,ll give them a go

You won't get the same taste and quality if you buy shop bought ones ... But then again anything must taste better than jellied fukcing eels  ..........

you beat me to it Socks, was just about to offer Gnasher some home made Welshcakes.

Onto the jellied eels , always fancied those myself. We have some great dishes in Blighty, from Wales, England and Scotland. Some really good grub

The art of a good Welsh cake is to wrap them in a tea towel when you take them off the heat, it helps to keep them nice and fluffy. Thats where they these mass produced ones fall short imo and even though they keep well after cooking you won't get a better Welsh cake than one thats just been cooked.

I'm gonna have to make some now. :D
