Steve_in_Devon 9
Had approval from the family to get another dog, but the family wants a small dog. I would prefer to get a gundog/retriever, but dont think they come small enough. The other option is a cross with a terrier. Has one got any experience with x with terriers on here Quote Link to post

big napper 3,614
definitely a cocker mate, mine is only 13" to the shoulder, she's longer and thicker set than a terrier obviously, but i've seen loads of terriers taller than her, and she never gets tired she will work all day Quote Link to post

mackay 3,400
Working golden retriever bitches can be quite small and probably a bit more laid back and easier to train than a cocker or a terrier. 1 Quote Link to post

Lab 10,979
There's cockers out there that are just as small as a wee terrier. Friend had one that could very near go in his pocket. And a cracking wee dog at that. Never seen a small working golden retriever though??? 1 Quote Link to post
