gonetoearth 5,144
Did you know him at school bosun? Not directly, I'm a few years older mate at 46! Though I met him a few times. My mum was the school cook, Rooneys mum worked for her, 'our Wayne' ate there every day. I knew about his talent and attitude long before he made Everton's first team.He must have been some talent at school level. We had a couple of guys who signed S forms for Celtic, one of them made the first team in a cup game, that was about it. Bottom line is that if he 'played', De la Salle usually won by a huge margin.Hard to imagine a kid not wanting to play every game never mind one who actually makes it as a pro. His talent was football, he used it simply for his own ends, his passion though was boxing.. Na bo that was graham Edited January 13, 2014 by gonetoearth

baw 4,360
Cant blame him its all about money they have to earn as much as they can by 33/35 hes no the publicity machine that beckham is But that isn't anything new, footballers have always been like that and there used to be loyalty. There more they earn now the more they want.

Malt 379
I think the 250,000 figure that gets banded about is if you add the image rights and sponsorship deals to his basic wage John.. Imagine the tax that he's paying on that?

Astanley 11,565
I think he wants to finish his career at Everton , despite the past ,him and his family are Everton daft , his old fella still goes every week even though he gets some terrible stick . Having met the lad a few times , ( his father in law is a mate of mine )I,v got to say I,v always found him , quiet , well mannered and a bit shy , not a bit like he,s perceived by the public . My point is... hes earning an exceptional wage.... so asking for more 'because he wants more' ... is being greedy. Id trim the grass at old trafford with my teeth for a fraction of that...
