Rooneys Contract

Recommended Posts

What do you guys think of him waiting till after the WC to renew his contract? Do fans not care about player loyalty? He arsed about with his last contract now he's doing it again. I'm all for players getting what they are worth but a wee bit of loyalty wouldn't go a miss. It's not like he will be getting food parcels if he takes Man U offer or do you think he doesn't like playing for moyes?

Hes on 250 grand a week! ...   Hardly gonna be on the streets when he retires...   If you put 50grand of that away and blew the rest....   Youd be able to live the life of luxury until the day

If he moved to rangers before they went belly up, he'd have payed no tax

Overrated, fat, granny shagging, Scouse mercenary. IMO   Cgheers, D.

It's only to be whats expected out of the 'orrible little cnut, is anyone expecting anything different...? Rooney was no better in school and loved the game of making teachers literally beg for him to play for them, usually in front of others! He got all he wanted then, as he does now, 'warm recovery' I think i read that he's off for the other day!

Moyes and United are no better off than those teachers long ago at De La Salle and are being held to ransom, forever biting their nails over him staying...

That said, the amount of players with genuine loyalty diminishes each and every season, they are almost all primadonna mercenaries.

I think football has become too much of a business on both sides of the table (players and teams). Far too many advisers need their pay cheque from deals like this so they'll dictate the pace of the deal and when he finally decides to sign (or not as the case may be).

Rooney wil say he just wants to play football week in week out and enjoy himself, but you just feel that if Chelsea came knocking with a really lucrative offer he'd push for the move.

Just depends if anyone really wants him that much as we'd be more than a little lost without him at the moment.

Did you know him at school bosun?

Not directly, I'm a few years older mate at 46! Though I met him a few times. My mum was the school cook, Rooneys mum worked for her, 'our Wayne' ate there every day. I knew about his talent and attitude long before he made Everton's first team.

He must have been some talent at school level. We had a couple of guys who signed S forms for Celtic, one of them made the first team in a cup game, that was about it.

Bottom line is that if he 'played', De la Salle usually won by a huge margin.

Hard to imagine a kid not wanting to play every game never mind one who actually makes it as a pro.

His talent was football, he used it simply for his own ends, his passion though was boxing.
