Close Call

Whent out the othere night on 1 of our new Permission [BANNED TEXT] me old boy it was the 1st time he shot [BANNED TEXT] lamps was a fairly windy but non the less wonted to get out [BANNED TEXT] the old boy so off we set around the fairly big paddock when we sore the 1st 2 rabbits so I lamped them up for me old man he shoot [BANNED TEXT] the hw 100 nearly but missed so we moved on and seen 1 laying in the field so I flicked the lamp on me Dad took aim as it lifed its head up hit soon hit the grpund 1 in the bag bout 25m so whent to get it when I seen movement so we flick lamp on ther was bout 4 bunneys all running for there life so whent bk to car for quick coffe and to get my rifle and give me old boy the lamp and of we set in the next paddock when I se a ribbit eat ing only 20 yards in the short grass took aim [BANNED TEXT] the daystate air ranger pop 2 nd bunny down we walk on for few minutes we flicked lamp on and seen a shining eye so I took aim and squeaked and it walk closer my old man sed wait its a cat I nearly shot luckly I didnet I dont no wat I wood of sed to the owner so thats when I called it a night 2 in the bag ferrets eating rabbit

got to be careful when lamping. don't take a shot until you identify the animal. if this means getting closer then so be it.

from my experience last time I lamped a cat they have green/yellow eyes like foxs

whereas rabbits have red

 

I don't shoot foxs so if I see yellow or green eyes I turn the lamp off.

if its a red eye jobs a good one its deffinately a rabbit

 

don't know about hares do they glow yellow/green, or red ??
