bugg 84
Managed to get everyone to mine for 7.30 for coffee (except Dan the coffee hater) and the day begun, I only acquired this perm on Friday and was briefly shown around by the owners wife and Bernard the grounds keeper had a good grizzle about where they would be so I had a rough idea, we got there decided a gentle warm up was a good plan(I had a late night) set the long nets up around a big oak tree and in 5 mins 2 in the bag, next we attempted a small ground bury but it was full of water, we next did a bank of about 10 holes which produced 2, another small ground bury so chucked the long net up and in went the fert and out popped Mr rabbit, and god what a performance lol it got out the long net a few times the dogs were trippi g over each other but finally harry grabbed it in the corner of the net, we netted up 3 smallish burys next only producing one between them which seemed odd, next came a biggie,a big soil heap with quite a few spaced out holes we got 4 I think from here. A couple of singles along the hedge on the way to another small ground bury, stuck the youngsters in and another 3 in the bag bolting at a roaring pace really hammering into the longnet, great to see! The end of the day saw us faced with the mother of burys, it was collosal, "just a small tip site" I said on the way to it because clearly I wasn't paying much attention on Friday, following a smoking blonde bombshell in her riding pants around I think I can probably be forgiven lol, any way I think you could till 500 nets on this thing we made do with the long nets trying to push the rabbits towards them and it was working, we bolted god knows how many out of here a dig to one hit perfectly by Keith( he's getting the hang of it) darkness was approaching and it was often 20 mins before a ferret would appear so decided to pick them up as they showed and they were all out by 4 ish, we ended the day on 23 and only one missed all day. The dogs had a brilliant day with all their buddys up ferreting for the day Charlie has a great time just carrying rabbits around and jack was like mystic Meg raising a foot a short time before rabbits bolting, but u fortunately he's got a nasty cut on his leg from the tip bury so be a vet visit tomorrow, its been a fantastic day with Keith Dan and harry thoroughly enjoyed it, harry was taken g pictures most of the day so I'm sure he'll put some up for us 1 Quote Link to post
