moxy 617
Jesus for fucks sake I can't believe this thread has gone so far it's common sense isn't it! It's only healthy debate and opinions. Nothing wrong with that. Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
I have all 3 firearms at hand just trying to determine the most effective option. What I'm gonna do is have a wonder with the 12G and then bait them with a safe backstop with the .22lr see how I get on. Any caught in traps try the air rifle with a concern for riccochet in the back of my mind I think that's the best option listening to all your great views and opinions thanks all Atb Dan 1 Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
What would be your method Chris (Slipper)? I've been with you shooting and respect your opinion mate Atb Dan Quote Link to post
slipper 116
Wasnt having a dig mate, just seemed as though we were going round in circles lol, but whatever is the safest way in the circumstances but would, nt use a shotty just incase you peppered its backside and then it went through someones catflap and died on the doormat lol Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Wouldn't want to do that lol Quote Link to post
slipper 116
I know of a keeper that did that, took a long shot at a fox with his 222, turned out to be a moggy from one of the farms on the estate and it made it home with its eyeball following behind on a piece of thread, luckily he new the farmers pretty well and just had to pay the vets bill Quote Link to post
shropshire dan 467
Jesus, if my mrs's cat came home like that she would go on a rampage lol Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
I'm just surprised it was still alive. I'm not in any way rubbishing your story, but I am very surprised a cat could take a hit in the head from a .223, never mind one that left its eyeball outside of its skull. 1 Quote Link to post

slipper 116
No god honest dont know how it happened it was a long shot over 300, maybe your right but I have never known him to lie. Also for the record I shot a rabbit in the summer with a 40 vmax from my 223, was still alive when I picked it up? All it had was the skin missing from between its ears, the skull had hardly been touched Quote Link to post
Ideation 8,216
Excellent, now we have a keeper that takes shots at over 300 yards at quarry he cant properly identify . . . . . . with a weapon apparently incapable of killing the intended quarry (or in this case a weaker animal than the intended quarry) at the range it was used . . . . . even when the animal was hit in the head. That guy sounds awesome. 2 Quote Link to post
